EPIC

Hi Loves!

Despite it being the weekend, I was up bright and early this morning for the NYC premiere of Epic, an amazing animated movie about two of my favorite things - nature and adventure. While the hour was early and the sky was a bit overcast, I was so excited to hit the green grass carpet to chat to the star-studded cast - including Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis, Amanda Seyfried and Aziz Ansari. As a massive Parks and Recreation fan, I was probably the most excited one on the carpet about see Aziz, aka Tom Haverford. And Beyonce of course provides the voice to the Queen in the film, but Queen Bey herself couldn't be there.

The morning was such a breath of fresh air, and I loved every second of it! Since Epic is a kid's movie, there were so many little one's on the red carpet that were probably more excited about taking pictures with the life-size cutouts of the film's colorful characters, than they were about seeing the actual stars. It was adorable! And the celebrities themselves were so chatty and lovely. Check out some snaps from my morning at Epic, as well as my outfit for the premiere!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!

Summer Breezes

NYC is dripping with summer today. The sky is a little overcast, the temperatures are deliciously warm, and the smell of a summer storm is lingering over the city. And besides daydreaming of a lunch made up entirely of frozen yogurt, I have also been focusing my attention on relaxed and casual fashion this morning.

While there is nothing like a summer day before a warm shower hits, there is also nothing like dressing for those day's breezes. I don't know about you, but one of my smallest pleasure in life is when the wind catches your maxi dress, or makes your t-shirt blown in the wind just slightly to make you barely even notice. And instead of being suffocated by tight dresses or jeans every day, I love giving my skin a break from time to time to revel in the summer's wind. And with today's weather capturing the perfect feeling for flowy looks, I've rounded up some snaps for inspiration.

Underneath the Palms

With 80 degree weather currently dominating NYC, everything looks just a little bit better. The colors are brighter, the people are friendlier and the overall mood of the city is elevated. There really is nothing like NYC in the summertime, and the fashion is no exception.

The warmer weather also triggers thoughts of vacation - whether it be daydreaming of a week if Fiji or planning a weekend down at the Jersey Shore. Either way, palm trees are involved. And this season, they are everywhere. Not only do I want to bask in the heat underneath them, but I also want to wear them. I have been seeing so many palm tree prints around town as of late, and I can't help but fall a little more in love with the blooming trend with each new piece I see. Here are just some of my favorites...

Outfit Post: Army Green

Happy Sunday!

I just got back from round two of The Great Gatsby screenings, and it was a lot of fun (although no where near as good as the glamorous premiere from last week)! I did sneak interviews with Carey Mulligan (Daisy) and Baz Luhrmann (the director), and although Leo didn't hit the red carpet and only opted to attend the after party, it was still a great night!

Since it's Sunday and everyone is a bit more relaxed in terms of fashion, I went with a pretty casual outfit to hit the red carpet in. I mixed dark army greens with pops of red. Check out a snap of my look below...

Jeans - JCrew
Boots - H&M
T-Shirt - Old Navy
Jacket - Nordstrom
Purse - Penny's (Ireland)

The Great Gatsby

Happy Friday!

I am so glad to see the weekend after a such a crazy work week. Although it was a bit hectic, I've had so much fun the past few days - especially on Wednesday. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the world premiere of "The Great Gatsby" in NYC! (still currently pinching myself)

The black carpet was laid out in front of Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center in the heart of the city. Adorned with touches of Tiffany&Co. blue, posters from the movie and men in vintage suits, it really was an event to remember. To go along with the 1920's theme of the film, all of the guests were dressed to impress with vintage touches, flapper dresses and beautiful head pieces. The entire evening was dripping with luxury, diamonds and champagne - everything "The Great Gatsby" centers around. It was by far the nicest red carpet event I have been to yet, and there was such an excitement buzzing around the entire evening. From the anticipation at seeing the stars to the roaring fascination of a different and more glamorous era, it's safe to say it felt like the entire city of New York was focusing on this moment.

All of the stars were in attendance, along with some other familiar (and very famous) faces - including Jay Z, who produced the movie's amazing soundtrack, Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, and many more. The carpet was packed and the stars were friendly, which is also so refreshing to see. Leonardo did his best to give interviews to everyone, but as you can imagine, he was in such high demand and the carpet was so long that he couldn't speak to each person individually. It was adorable to see him try! He felt so bad when he had to be taken inside to start the film. But he made sure to say hello to everyone and thank them for coming. All in all, it made me fall even more in love with him than before.

Here are some snaps from the amazing night...

The beautiful black carpet with touches of Tiffany&Co. blue.

Leo stopped right in front of me to say hello and wave to the fans standing behind me.

The gorgeous Carey Mulligan. I loved her Tiffany jeweled earrings!

Tobey Maguire!

Jay Z!

I snuck a few photos on the red carpet!

And the best part about it is that I get to do it all over again this Sunday! They are having a private screening of the movie with all of its stars, along with additional celebrity guests, so I am hoping to get some great interviews and maybe even chat to Leo!

Have a great weekend, everyone, and stay stylish.

Outfit Post: Crazy Casual Sunday

Hi Loves!

I hope everyone's week is going well, and that you're all coming down nicely from the buzz of the weekend! But, then again, tomorrow is already Wednesday, so technically the weekend is almost, kind of, maybe right around the corner again.

This past Sunday, my boyfriend and I took full advantage of the delicious NYC sunshine. The weather was warm with romantic breezes and the city was hanging with summer anticipation. Street vendors were friendlier, outside seating at restaurants was manditory, and the scent of mimosas almost filled the streets. All in all, it was a great day.

After grabbing some breakfast at our favorite cafe near our apartment, we ventured into the city for a walk on the High Line, which is now one of my new favorite spots. Built on one of the city's oldest rail lines that was almost abandoned back in the day, the High Line is now a public park that runs along the historic freight line elevated above the streets in Manhattan's West Side. Long story short, it's a beautiful and botanical-esq garden that takes you in between buildings and along the water. It's an amazing place and even though it was crowded when we got there, it still seemed like a hidden gem within the city.

And since it was a little on the warm side and I was in such a relaxed mood, I decided to go pretty casual for our Sunday adventures. Check out some snaps of my outfit, and the High Line, below...

My Week In Style

Happy Friday! :)

I hope everyone is as ready for the weekend as I am. I got an enormous boost in my mood today when a few items I recently purchased online came in the mail! I had them delivered to my office because I love getting little pick-me-up's during the work week. Besides my deliveries today, I took a few snaps during the week to showcase some highlights from my outfits. Check out the pictures below...

My Tuesday outfit, with neon as my muse.

My favorite new t-shirt just came in today from London! I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on a real Celine shirt, so I got this amazing one from Etsy.

I have been obsessing over this pineapple print dress for a few months now, and I finally ordered it last week. It just came in the mail today and I can't wait to try it on!

My gorgeous Jennifer Zeuner initial necklace.

When you can't afford a real Celine bag, you go for an amazing knockoff. I got this beauty from JustFab!

Have a great weekend and stay stylish!

A Little Less Fabric, A Little More Fun

Happy Wednesday Loves!

I don't know what it is about today, but I cannot stop thinking about the day when I can finally step out of the house without a coat. Do you know those mornings when you miraculously wake up before your alarm goes off and you actually feel well-rested and refreshed? Well, today was one of those days for me. I got out of bed (without struggle, which is a huge deal for me), and went through my wardrobe to carefully select my get-up for the day. I even had time to do a cat eye with my eyeliner - something I never seem to be able to master. But, with a few extra minutes hanging around my morning routine, I ended up doing a pretty ok job!

But with this spring in my step today (pun intended), I have been scowering some of my favorite fashion websites for inspiration about what to put together now that my coat can almost (key word almost) be hung up for the season. Not only am I excited to wear fewer layers, I also can't wait to break out my sandals and strappy heels. They have been tucked away in my closet much longer than normal this year, and the dust they have gathered slightly breaks my heart. Any fashion gal knows that you can't abandon your shoe collection for too long, or you actually start to feel a little bit guilty.

Here are some of my favorite looks that I can't wait to try out (or something similar)...

Meet The New Skinnygirl's

Last Thursday, I was so excited to attend Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Cocktails "Meet the New Girls" party to introduce the new drinks in her calorie-friendly cocktail line. For those of you who aren't familiar with Bethenny, she use to be the sharp-tonged single girl on The Real Housewives of New York, before landing her own reality show about finding love and having a baby. She's hilarious, real, and tapped into the one thing girls needed to have - alcohol without the guilt! (Just a small part of me wishes I had thought of it first).

Not only was it great to see Bethenny mingling at the party and getting behind the bar to try her hand and mixing drinks, but she also brought along some gorgeous help - Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing With the Stars, model Tyson Beckford and J.P. Rosenbaum from The Bachelor

Along with unveiling the new Skinnygirl Mojito, Skinnygirl Sweet 'n Tart Grapefruit Margarita, Skinnygirl White Cherry Vodka, and Skinnygirl Moscato, the party offered healthy snacks, a photo booth and a dance floor. And to top it all off, I got a surprise delivery from Bethenny at my office the next day, complete with all her new cocktails, a mixer and an adorable Skinnygirl drinking glass! Check out some snaps from the party below...
